Description
The concept for this series emerges from the striking contrast between the river’s natural beauty and the industrial elements of the surrounding area, particularly the train tracks and warehouses to the west. Inspired by this transition, the idea of seed dispersion becomes the guiding theme. Just as seeds are carried by wind, water, and animals, this space serves as a bridge where nature and industry intermingle.

The proposed sculptures are inspired by native plant seeds, featuring organic forms paired with industrial materials to reflect the duality of the site. As the sculptures move through the landscape, their materials and colors gradually evolve—shifting from industrial tones to natural vibrancy. This creates a visual journey that invites exploration of the relationship between these two ecosystems.

The sculptures, scattered and rotated like seeds ready to sprout, offer a dynamic and engaging experience. Each form allows for different perspectives, while integrated educational elements highlight the native plants that inspired the designs. QR codes lead to additional information, encouraging deeper engagement with the site.

As the sculptures approach the riverfront, their materials transition fully to color, removing industrial elements to reflect the natural environment. This shift symbolizes the harmonious blending of industry and nature, creating a vibrant and evolving landscape.

Although this proposal is not moving forward, it celebrates the beauty of the Scioto Peninsula by weaving together its natural and industrial aspects into a cohesive artistic experience.
